About INARA · Somatic technology
We design rituals the body can learn and return to. Fragrance and sound are our first expression.
Explore what we’re buildingThe company
INARA is a somatic technology company. We design systems that work through the body and the senses, bringing scent, sound, attention, and repetition into one practice.
Our work connects physical rituals with digital experiences. Fragrance is the first interface. An app is in development, with further somatic technologies ahead.
What we’re building
Each expression begins with the same question: how can design help us pay attention to what we feel?
Available today
Four fragrance rituals, each paired with an original sound journey and guided meditation. A scent on skin becomes a familiar cue to pause and listen.
In development
We’re developing an app to bring the practice into a digital experience. It will extend INARA’s work with sound, meditation, and daily ritual.
Our direction
We’re exploring other tools that work through the body and the senses. Our direction is technology that fits the pace of the body and supports a practice people can return to.
Experiential design
Spaces designed for listening, scent, and guided meditation. Fragrances, headphones, soft light, and handcrafted furnishings invite guests to settle in. Each lounge is composed for its setting.

Musicians bring a fragrance into sound. Live instruments, voice, and electronic textures unfold alongside scent and taste. In Mystical Essence, Pascale Caristo and Avy Shanty lead the shared sound journey.

Our first interface
We begin with fragrance because it stays close. Worn on skin and paired with sound, it gives the ritual a physical cue you can return to throughout the day.
We call these fragrances neuroscents. Each oil is paired with an original sound journey and guided meditation around an intention: calm, confidence, openness, or balance. Apply the scent, settle into the sound, and notice how you feel today.

The company, the app, and the thinking behind the ritual.
“Somatic” means relating to the body. For INARA, somatic technology is a designed system that works through sensory cues and attention. Scent, sound, meditation, and repetition give the practice its structure. Your own experience gives it meaning.
The app is in development. Today, you can experience INARA through our fragrance rituals and their paired sound journeys and guided meditations.
Research explores how smell relates to memory, emotion, and mood. It gives us context for working with scent. Evidence about an individual aroma does not establish the effects of an INARA fragrance or guarantee a particular feeling.
For example, a controlled study of 56 adults found that lemon aroma improved positive mood compared with lavender and water. It studied those aromas under specific conditions, rather than INARA oils worn on skin.
Fragrance is our first physical interface. It gives a daily ritual a sensory cue that stays with you. The app and future technologies will extend the same work through other forms, while lounges and live experiences express it through experiential design.

How we design a ritual, a digital experience, or a shared space.
We begin with warmth, texture, breath, and sound. The experience comes first; the explanation follows.
We compose scent, sound, light, and materials around a shared atmosphere, with room to notice each one.
We credit the places, craft traditions, composers, and collaborators behind our work. Their origins and contributions are part of the experience.
We leave room for a breath, a pause, and the time it takes to notice. You decide what the experience feels like and what you take from it.
